Update of Services

For those planning to attend service in the building, surfaces will be frequently disinfected, hand sanitizers are provided, and there will be  adequate spacing for proper distancing.  We will provide a “touch-less service” where during your entire time on our premises you will have minimal need to touch anything. We are encouraging everyone to wear masks in the lobby and avoid congregating there due to limited space.  Our children, infants thru 4th grade we will be meeting together downstairs in their classrooms for spiritual teaching and fellowship. Young people in 5th thru 8th grade and older will gather at the Fellowship Hall during this season to provide more room for space in the classrooms.

We will continue to stream services on Facebook in this season and take every precautionary measure to ensure the physical safety and wellbeing of anyone who comes onto our property seeking spiritual care.  Your spiritual and physical wellbeing is our concern, and we desire to meet everyone where they are at and offend as few as possible.

We bless you and are praying for you and your household in this season, and if there is anything we can assist in or if you have any questions please reach out!

Even if you don't have a FB account you can still join us live here:

Dear Church,                                                                                                                  March 19, 2020

When the world is shaking, God is steady.

When the earth and all its dwellers quake, it is I who bear up its pillars. Selah.  Psalms 75:3 (Berean Study Bible)

We have been closely monitoring COVID-19 and have sought the Lord during this unprecedented situation and hope you will see our heart to honor God, our elected officials, and our people as we navigate the next couple of weeks.

As of Monday, March 16th,  President Trump and our Governor have requested more caution as we the people help to “slow the curve” of this virus.  As of Wednesday there are reported cases in Lancaster and York and Hanover.  In accordance with the recent requests and news, our Sunday morning services are cancelled on 3/22 & 3/29 and we are also canceling small group meetings for the remainder of this week and next week to assist in slowing the curve.  To view a message which will be posted for viewing for Sunday morning please check our website gatewaychurchyork.com/resources/audio-video-sermons.

We will continue to have prayer on Wednesdays at 6 P.M. as normally scheduled as this requires limited volunteers and allows us to gather as we feel led and pray for our nation at this time.  Manna Ministry, scheduled for March 19th and will continue as planned as we feel that this ministry may be invaluable to many families we serve at this vulnerable time. However, we will be modifying how we distribute food to decrease the amount of person to person contact.  Any Manna volunteers are encouraged to participate or not participate as they feel led. We appreciate you, we love you and we bless you. If GCI members are available to help this week due to work closings etc. and feel led to assist, please contact Lana Bender ASAP.

We recognize many of you will decide to completely quarantine and others will not. We bless each of you to seek the Lord and believe that you dwell in the shadow of the Almighty. We especially encourage everyone over the age of 60 as well as anyone with a compromised immune system to use wisdom and discernment during this season as to when to leave your home.

We do expect that anyone feeling ill would self-quarantine for the safety of others. We also ask people to be aware of the CDC and PA Department of Health's strategies for mitigation of the COVID-19 virus which can be found on both of their sites.

For any specific ministry needs please contact the church office to set an appointment. For specific prayer needs please connect with our prayer chain by emailing lau64@comcast.net

We will continue to provide updates as this situation develops.  Please pray as you are strong in the Lord and your prayers are effective.  We hold you all in our hearts and in prayer all the more doing this time.

The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace.  Numbers 6:24-26 NKJV

We are standing in agreement with Psalms 91 over each of you and your households!
